Melanie is 44 years old, married with 1 grown up child, Catholic, Filipino. She speak English well.

2006: She has worked 2 weeks with a Chinese family living in flat. She was taking care of a 3 and 5 years old child. It is the first time that she is working overseas and needed time to adjust.

2003-2004: She has worked almost 2 years with a Chinese family living in flat. Her household duties include cooking, grocery shopping and cooking.

2004-2005: She has worked 1 year with an Indian family living in condo. She was taking care of a 1 and 5 years old child and did cooking and general housekeeping. Employer left Singapore.

2006-2008: She has completed 2 years contract with a Chinese family living in flat. She was taking care of a 12 and 14 years old child. The family has a pet dog. Her household duties include cooking, grocery shopping and general housekeeping.

2008-2009: She has worked 1 year 2 months with a Norwegian family living in condo. She was taking care of a 3,8, 12 years old child. Her household duties include cooking and general housekeeping. The family went back to Norway.

2009: She has worked 3 months with a French family living in condo. She was taking care of a 5 years old child. Her employer has gone back to France.

2009-2011: She worked almost 2 years with a Chinese family living in 3 storey house. She was taking care of a 12 nad 15 years old child. Her household duties include cooking, grocery shopping and general housekeeping. The family do not need a full time helper as they moved into a small apartment.

2011-2012: She has worked 8 months with an American family living in condo. She was taking care of a pet dog and did cooking and general housekeeping. The family went back to US.

2017-2026: She is currently working 9 years with a Chinese family living in 2 storey house. She is taking care of a 85 years old elderly. Her household duties include grocery shopping, cooking and general housekeeping. Employer's reference: Melanie has worked in my mom’s house from 2017 to now. She speaks English and reads it very well and understands some Mandarin. Her duties include cleaning the 2 storey semi detached house and cooking and caring for my mom who is in her eighties. There are 2 helpers in the home because they care for a person who has dementia and mobility has to be guided. Cleaning of the house is daily and watering of the garden is daily. She is neat and tidy and clean. I have provided a cleaning schedule that she follows. She is driven to the wet market weekly and supermarket bi-weekly. When I am unable to drive her, she will take a bus to the market and grab home. She plans the menu and what to buy. She would look at the pricing in the supermarket and select items of the better pricing. She came to the house with cooking skills and she has easily learnt more recipes from my helper and also taught my helper some recipes she knows. Eg. She taught how to make fishballs from fresh fish. Melanie is able to learn very quickly. My communication and instruction to her is mainly over whatsapp. She goes out 2 Sundays a month even though she is allowed to go out every Sunday if she wants to. She comes home punctually by 6pm. Melanie has shown interest to work and have an income to support her family. She goes on home leave once in 2 years and has come back every time as agreed upon. Melanie is a helper who can work well independently. We are releasing her from duties as my mom is now rather unwell and we would require a helper with nursing aid knowledge.
